    Perhaps my favorite veil

This is my third French Stella Maris Mantilla, which I got in Old Gold. (I have black and the navy on black mesh as well.) I love the length and the weight. The gold color is perfect, subtle and elegant. I usually wear black to daily Mass, Confession, and Adoration, but my husband suggested that I should wear blue, gold, or silver on Sundays. Done!

Absolutely beautiful! Soft and silky feel. Drapes wonderfully. So happy to honor our Lady in this way.

    So beautiful!

Ever since they came out with the Stella Maris mantillas I knew at some point I would purchase one. I came into the church while helping with the music for the Latin Mass at St. Mary Star of the Sea, so having a Stella Maris mantilla means a lot to me. Not to mention how beautiful this veil is, even more so in person!

    Longer and heavier weight

This is my second Stella Maris veil. This one is black and my previous one was the blue on black mesh. This veil comes down very long in the front and goes past my shoulders in the back. It has a lot of detailing which makes it heavier than some of the other French lace veils. The black one seems to grip the hair well. (My blue one slides all over the place.) I do have to be more careful because I tend to accidentally tug the veil as the sides are long. It’s very pretty though.

    Stunning French Mantilla

Posted by Dannica on 26th Feb 2018

I have always admired women who wear mantillas to Mass, as it is such a beautiful form of reverence for our Lord, the living Jesus Christ. Nonetheless, I hesitated to purchase my own, mostly out of irrational fear and anxiety of what others would think. Finally though, I broke through my fear and wore my mantilla to Adoration and Mass this past week. Besides being a way to honor Jesus, the mantilla also serves as a reminder to me, that YES, I am in the presence of the Living Christ. I know that this will only serve to strengthen my faith and I am so happy I overcame my ridiculous fears. I digress though; the mantilla is so lovely. The lace is soft and does cling to my hair, so I don't need a comb or bobby pins. I cannot say enough good things about the mantilla and Veils By Lily. The mantilla shipped almost immediately after I placed my order and I will be using Veils By Lily again, both for myself and other women in my life.

    Very fancy

I purchased the navy on black mesh. It is very rich looking. I prefer dark veils but have dark hair. The black mesh disappears on my hair and all that shows is the navy color. This is my fourth of the French veils and is by far the heaviest. It’s still lightweight, but just heavier than the French Bouquet and the French garden. This one is a bit more slippery. I still wear it without a comb or clip, but it is just a bit more slick. The sides come down very low and the back is lower too. I really like that. It feels more formal. I do have to be careful not to accidentally pull the longer sides though. In all, a very nice alternative to black while still being dark. Just lovely.
