I am thrilled to tell you about an exchange of emails I had with a male customer who so lovingly told us about his wife's devotion to the Lord through veiling. After I requested permission to highlight his comment during the last giveaway, he and his wife came back with an incredibly generous offer to fund another giveaway. We are calling it the St. Joseph Challenge, because it calls for the involvement of men who are dedicated to living out the example of St. Joseph and protecting the virtue and grace of their most precious friends, the women in their lives:As a young husband, I'm so certain of the graces that come with veiling that I am willing to fund the next giveaway. The theme could be for involvement of husbands, fathers, single guy friends, brothers, etc. who are dedicated to living out the example of St. Joseph and protecting the virtue and grace of our most precious friends, the women in our lives. I think men need to let the women in our lives know that they truly are precious in our eyes as in the Lord's, and that we support their femininity and role as mini-Marys. Now please don't get me wrong, my wife isn't some sanctimonious wall flower. She's very outgoing, beautiful, and used to be a flight attendant. But she has a strong heart for Mary and living her life for Christ. My heart nearly bursts with pride when I glance over and see her looking longingly at the altar during Mass. It's like catching a glimpse of heaven, and I've teared up more than once. The point, though, is that we have our major life bumps like everyone else. BOY, do we have them. But veiling feels so, so right and comfortable, especially as she's holding the babies. We totally don't even notice or care what others think, we just want to show God we understand He's really there on the altar. Once again, we're just plain old nobodies. We don't float off the ground during Consecration (although that'd be cool!) and we sometimes are writing out the check during the homily, ha! Point being, veiling is awesome for ALL families trying to live out their faith and get closer to Jesus, not just the ones that emit heavenly perfume (if I had to guess, we probably emit a cross between diaper wipes, fruit snacks, Bay Rum aftershave and Romance perfume).
Anyhow, the point of this is I would like to challenge the GUYS in women's lives to take the challenge lived out by St. Joseph and established by God to be the spiritual heads of their families and encourage even small acts of respect toward God during mass. Who knows the spiritual breakthrough and graces this small act might unleash in their families?
I don't know about you, but reading all this, especially coming from a husband, blew me away!
This young husband and his lovely wife are offering to give away one Veils by Lily mantilla for a husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin or friend to gift to a special woman in his life. Ladies, encourage the men in your lives to enter this giveaway for you! To enter, they must simply leave a comment at the bottom of this post. And to make it more interesting, I will add another mantilla to the giveaway myself, for a total of TWO mantillas of your choice to give away, one to each winner.

I love love love this! Blessings to that husband... oh, prayers for mine that he might come to view veiling in the same beautiful light.
Blessings to him and his family.
My wife is a convert and I love that she has embraced veiling so completely.
I'm using my wife's email. Chantalcavin@gmail.com
Thank you for the giveaway. My fiance will need a new veil when we get married next summer.

We had an idea to try to sell modest long skirts, veils, and Coleen Hammond's" Dressing with Dignity" book at our parish festival booth. Other booths consisted of rides, food (lots of secular type events, etc). Our parish is very small and our pastor was just starting to celebrate the Latin Mass. We thought we'd sell maybe one or two skirts and maybe one or two veils. We thought it was going to be sort of an educational booth to let people know more about the importance of modesty, etc.. The surprise was that we sold 27 skirts and many veils. We will try to purchase our veils from you next time! God BLess

Count me in! I've got two little ladies as well who could use new veils!
What a wonderful idea. Would love to win one of your beautiful veils. -- Karen
What a wonderful man! Blessings to him and his wife and you, Lily, who are providing us with such beautiful veils!
My wife and daughter have longed to each have veils. I'd love to win this giveaway and surprise them both. Thanks!
P.S. I loved reading that gentleman's e-mail. We need more young families like that in the Church.

Thank you so much for doing this,
My Wife's Mantilla has been used quite a bit and is a bit discolored and is starting to unravel.
A new one would be an awesome surprise for her.
God bless you for your awesome blog.
Absolutely gorgeous veils. I'm sure that my wife would love another one.
PS Our son has an affinity for chewing on her veil during Mass. I guess he likes them too.
I am a husband and a father of 3 girls. My wife has expressed an interest in veiling but, to be honest, we really can't afford one at the moment, because I've been underemployed since 2009 and fully unemployed since May.
I've got a beautiful sister who I would love to give one of your beautiful veils to.
As a return customer, I can attest to how wonderful these are and how they really help focus the wearers as they prepare themselves for Mass. Blessings to all!
I would love the veils to give away. I think it is beautiful to see my sisters and my mom veil in Church. e-mail address is pittbass4@charter.net
My girlfriend became a Confirmed Catholic just this past Easter, and she consistently wears her mantilla! The only thing is, the one she wears was her Great-Grandmother's... and it's starting to show its age. Even though she worries about protecting a piece of her family's history, she's adamant about wearing a veil at Mass!
What a wonderful idea for a giveaway! Thank you for doing this.

Such a great testimony of veiling, and a generous giveaway to pass the blessings on to others.

I have written many times on the beauty of the chapel veil, reminding people that the Church veils what is most sacred, most imbued with mystery. Think here of the veil over the chalice, the humeral veil used for the Eucharist, or even the tabernacle itself. And remember that the any veil is always at the service of an unveiling.
Why is it that the woman is veiled? Why is it that she has such mystery? Quite simply, she is the bearer of new life.
It is a beautiful tradition that has unfortunately been hijacked by an agenda. Kudos to those women who can see through such an agenda.
My wife wears one every Sunday.

I am so happy that my beautiful wife Bernadette has recently began veiling at Mass. I believe that it is a true testament of her love for Jesus Christ present in the Blessed Sacrament. She recently completed RCIA and began veiling because she thought that it was a great sign of respect to God. She told me a story about how just this Saturday, she went to confession at church and then went into the adoration chapel afterwards and felt bad because she had forgotten her veil. I feel so proud of her for being a good example to other women at our church of what a Catholic woman is. When she first started veiling, she was nervous because she was the only person that veiled at our church, but now she loves to wear her veil and I believe it has helped give her, a greater respect for God. This has also given me a greater respect and love for her and God as well. She is setting such a good example for our two young boys on how to live your faith even when those around you do not. Our boys are too young to understand it now but they will one day understand that just because everyone else is doing something it does not make it right, an example that my wife wonderfully sets with her veil. I will, as a father, also teach my children this lesson. However, my wife shows that lesson with her veil. I could not love my wife anymore and I am so proud of her for everything she does, especially the good example she sets by veiling.
I think this is a great idea! Thought they are beautiful, they still show a sense of Humility. I wish more women would wear these! Even if I don't receive one from the giveaway, I'll probably buy it for a special friend!

I agree wholeheartedly with this line from the article above: "My heart nearly bursts with pride when I glance over and see her looking longingly at the altar during Mass. It's like catching a glimpse of heaven, and I've teared up more than once." I've seen this more than once, in my wife, and in another special young woman in our lives. There is scarcely anything more beautiful than a woman in love with God--and the veil is a moving token of that love.

Our Lady of Fatima promotes the true dogma of the our faith. Veils by Lily is providing a service which helps to show proper reverance to Our Lord, Our God when receiving the Eucharist.
What a great way for a women to show reverence to God by veiling there heads and dressing modestly while in His holy pressence.
Give to the LORD the glory due his name!
Bring gifts, and enter his courts.
Worship the LORD, in holy attire;
tremble before him, all the earth.

Thanks, Lily, and also thanks to the donor of the veil! My wife and I studied at a school in Austria where many women wore veils, and so she adopted that practice and now wears a veil, whether she's at daily mass or Sunday mass.
It truly helps to give honor and reverence to God during the Holy and Bloodless Sacrifice of the Mass, and my wife enjoys wearing it, too!

Thank you for sharing and what a great way to spread the word about the beautiful veils! I think it is wonderful to see women wearing them, as I have not seen any since I was young going to church with my grandmother. My sister in law and her 3 daughters veil now and I think it is wonderful. I would love to suprise my wife with one for a gift as we are about to get our marriage blessed. As a father of 5 I enjoy strengthening my faith with my family. I believe it makes us have a closer relationship with god, ourselves and each other.

My fiance is currently going through RCIA, and will be joining the Church this coming Easter. She attends the TLM with me at a local FSSP parish that we are beginning in Houston. After Mass one morning she asked me about veiling, why some women do and some women don't. As I couldn't speak from a personal view point, I forwarded her some links so that she could read about veiling and decide if it was something she would do (agree with). Two weeks later as we're walking to the church from our car she retrieved a veil from her purse. Not to say that I was shocked, but I was surprised. She a beautiful woman, growing a strong love and understanding of our faith. I look forward to the family we will have together (God willing).

I have four beautiful women in my life, my wife of nearly 25 years and three precious daughters. They work hard at respecting and honoring our Lord at Mass. Though they do not veil yet, they have toyed with the idea. This would be a great way to get them started!

I have a great friend who has recently discovered her faith and has made it a vibrant expression of her life. I have been in awe at her ability to respond daily to the love of God she has experienced. I am priveleged to be her friend as she continues to radiate her love for God and to follow the vocation He has set for her. She is excited about her faith and this would be a great way to help her embrace it on a deeper level.

PTL.... St. Joseph, we entrust all men to you. Please guide, protect, and teach them!
My wife dropped me a little hint to post on here. She's a wonderful lady helping my children and I live our faith. Pray that our new one due in December comes with a healthy delivery for all concerned.
St. Joseph, pray for me to be the husband I need to be and that God's blessings be on our family.
I have three lovely ladies in my life that wear your beautiful veils. I love to see my wife and two little girls at the altar rail adoring Our Lord in their church dresses and chapel veils.

I would love to get one for my wife. Please consider this my entry. We've been making an effort to learn more about the Mass lately, and my wife decided she wants a veil. We have four kids under age four, and it can make for some difficult times during Mass, but I'm always amazed by my wife's reverence through it all. My wife is a constant source of sanctification for me, and I'd love to win this for her.

My wife has been wearing a veil for over 2 years and she's wanted to purchase one of your since you opened your store.
