A number of women wear veils at my church (it's the ordinary form of Mass). I always liked seeing their veils, and once I got more comfortable, I started wearing veils myself. My friends started as well. I have a beautiful black veil and I just love it. My step dad commented on it when he took me to mass when I was staying with them for the weekend. He's not Catholic, but mentioned that it was refreshing to see someone commited to the faith. I do wish I had gotten one with a comb, but still, your work is beautful! I ordered a Veil by Lilly, my very first veil. It's black mantilla style done in chantilly lace with a Venetian lace trim. As soon as I opened the package I was overjoyed...it's just so beautiful! I wasn't sure how I would feel wearing it in church and I'm happy to report that it feels just right, as if it's something I've always done. Now I'm experimenting with wearing it in different ways. At one, many of the young women wear them-- we are on a college campus, but my church back home is full of many older women and no one wears them. I recently purchased a beautiful mantilla and a chapel veil from Veils by Lily. They were so nicely wrapped, and they smelled like the scented oil used at confirmation. It was delightful! Sadly, I am the only one in my parish who wears a veil...It was so refreshing and encouraging to read the comments of others who also have chosen to cover their heads before our Lord. It is really not a choice; it is a scriptural command. We are supposed to cover our heads. It shows our respect for the role of Christ over the Church, husbands over their wives, etc. It is a loving arrangement with Christ at the head. I just saw Jessica's post on FB and figured I'd come to your site and see what this veil drawing was all about! Sooo glad Jess posted! We attend the Tridentine mass and it is always difficult to find well constructed, longer, stay-in-place veils for grown ups! Since we're raising our three grand daughters who also wear veils, I've given up a few of mine for their sake. Yours look lovely and I'm definitely hopeful I'll win. But if I do not, you'll probably be mailing at least one out to me anyway at some point.

I have been veiling for almost 2 years now and my veils are starting to get a bit warn around the edges do to my love of my veils. (And the fact that they are more than 70 years old.) Most of my veils are from my grandmother (Died at age 85) and my great-grandmother (Died at age 90). I need some new veils so that I can put the ones I have away for safe keeping. I would LOVE to get some more traditional veils.

What a great giveaway! This is extremely generous and a great idea to get at least one more young lady to wear a veil to mass. My sister and I have been called to wear a veil to mass and talk about great timing! I wore a veil for the first time this past Sunday and came across this site today via Crescat! My veil was certainly nowhere near as beautiful as the veils here! I may have to save up and get one of them! I have already posted about this giveaway on my own blog.

I would love to win a veil! I have never worn a veil for Mass. When I was very young, all the little girls and adult women wore hats; only teenagers wore veils. They were so pretty. I couldn't wait to be old enough for my mother to let me wear one. Then, alas, before that time, the veils vanished. Nice to see them making a comeback.

Awesome contest! I started wearing my grandma's veil when she passed away a few years ago, and since then both my mother and future sister-in-law have joined me in starting the revolution! (We're still the only ones under age 65 wearing them at mass... but we press on!) Unfortunately I lost my grandma's veil during my year abroad, but found one that looks just like it here at Veils by Lily! I was so happy come close to replacing this irreplaceable keepsake. Thank you so much for the beautiful work you do. Maybe I can win a veil here that I will be able to give to my next veil convert... or put away for my future daughter!
